Gouache on trimmed celluloid applied
to a matching watercolor production background. Honest John (the
fox) and Gideon (the cat) lead the ever so innocent and trustworthy
Pinocchio down a path to trouble in this captivating setup. The
watercolor background panting of the cottages and cobblestone
road in among one of the most pristine I have even seen. The
paper is in mint condition and the colors are as strong and vibrant
as the first day it was painted. The background is untrimmed
with all peg-holes and notations still visible on the front.
The studio stamps and sign offs are boldly visible on the back.
The cel of these three characters are not only matching to the
background, there also match each other. Making this an exceptionally
rare work of art. Truly a piece that no serious collection should
be without
